How Do I Know if This Flexible Dieting is Working For Me?

This is a fantastic question…to question yourself with!  All of us get too hung up with the body scale weight and always anxious to see if it’s lower the following morning when we wake up [prior to eating and after a restroom break].  However, this is only ONE part of the masterpiece you’re trying to ultimately build!  There are plenty of ways to measure your progress and success to see if the FD process is working for you – here are some foods for thought:

  • Aesthetics/body appearance
  • Performance in the gym
  • Eating habits
  • Fitting of clothes
  • Body composition
  • Energy levels/mood
  • Sleeping patterns
  • Positive changes in lifestyle habits
  • Food cravings/choices

It’s extremely easy for us to get derailed at times, especially if all we concentrate on is the body scale weight.  Remember, slow and steady wins the race and the process of FD is here to provide us with education on how to properly fuel our bodies and, most importantly, commitment to a long-term pathway of success.  Can you see yourself down the road a year from now still holding yourself accountable to your nutrition endeavors?  Can you develop a positive lifestyle change and maintain it and never look back on the old version of yourself?  Can you be “flexible” in your daily routine and not freak out if an unexpected lunch meeting pops up and you don’t want to be rude to others not ordering from the menu?  Can you see yourself not holding certain foods off limits, thus feeling the sensation of punishment because it’s totally against the rules to eat that one bad food?

Through coaching [with BullsEye Nutrition], it can only help us have someone there to guide us down the correct pathway to success!  Sometimes it’s nice to have a second set of eyes to truly see our progress with our long-term goals in mind.  Remember, it’s ok to get derailed because we can always jump back on the train again – it’s human, it’s normal, and it’s going to happen one time or another.  But DON’T PUNISH YOURSELF for it and feel like it’s the end of the world – as Rocky Balboa says “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows.  It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.  You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.  But it ain’t about how hard ya hit.  It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.  How much you can take and keep moving forward.  That’s how winning is done!” So be true to yourself and true to the process; commit, succeed, and hold yourself accountable in whatever your work may be.  Trust the process!  Happy eating! #teambullseyenutrition
